Minimum Requirements for Eligibility

Overview

Based on the testnet providers, the minimum values required to be eligible for a node provider are as follows which are subject to change based on good feedbacks:

The minimum requirements are of 20Mbps r/w and upload/download are for a 1TB node. For higher amount of storage provided, please make sure the read/write and upload/download speeds should increase proportionately with the amount of storage provided.

Upload Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Download Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Read Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Write Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Uptime Percent: 90%
Storage Used: no minimum set, will increase with usage
Demand percent: no minimum set, will increase with usage

When comparing two Iagon Nodes, consider the following aspects:

Processing Power and Capacity

  • Assess the computational capacity of each node.
  • Compare their processing power (CPU) and available memory (RAM).
  • Nodes with higher processing capabilities have higher read/write capability.

Storage Resources

  • Evaluate the storage capacity of each node.
  • Compare available disk space (SSD, HDD) and data redundancy mechanisms.
  • Nodes with larger storage can accommodate more data.

Network Latency and Bandwidth

  • Consider network performance.
  • Compare latency (response time) and available bandwidth.
  • Nodes with low latency and high bandwidth contribute to efficient data exchange.

Reliability and Uptime

  • Assess the reliability of each node.
  • Compare uptime (availability) and historical performance.
  • Reliable nodes contribute to a stable network.

Geographical Distribution

  • Nodes may be distributed globally.
  • Compare their geographical locations.
  • Nodes closer to users reduce latency and improve content delivery.
