Storage Node
Minimum Requirements for Storage Node Eligibility
Overview
The following minimum hardware requirements nodes are as follows, and are subject to change based on network research.
INFO
The minimum performance requirements are set based on a 1 TB storage commitment. For higher amount of storage provided, we recommend the read/write and upload/download speeds should increase proportionately with the amount of storage provided, otherwise the node may suffer a low performance score.
Minimum Values
Storage capacity: 900 GB
RAM: 4 GB or more to run the node application
Upload Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Download Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Read Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Write Speed: 20 Mbps or 2.5 MB/s
Uptime Percent: 90%Scores
Scores based on the above values:
SUT (Uptime Score) = 36.78794412
WUT (Uptime Weight) = 10
SCS (Used Storage Score) = 10
WCS (Used Storage Weight) = 10
SR (Read Score) = 88.25
WR (Read Weight) = 20
SW (Write Score) = 88.25
SW (Write Weight) = 10
SU (Upload Score) = 95.92
WU (Upload Weight) = 20
SD (Download Score) = 95.92
WD (Download Weight) = 10
SDE (Demand Score) = 20
WDE (Demand Weight) = 20P (Performance Score) = 58.93
Amount of IAG to be staked = 2981.25
where,
Base USD staked per GB = 0.5
IAG value = 0.16 USD
alpha = 0.9Above scores and Amount of IAG to be staked are calculated from the formulas here.
Comparison between two Iagon Nodes
When comparing two Iagon Nodes, consider the following aspects:
Processing Power and Capacity
- Assess the computational capacity of each node.
- Compare their processing power (CPU) and available memory (RAM).
- Nodes with higher processing capabilities have higher read/write capability.
Storage Resources
- Evaluate the storage capacity of each node.
- Compare available disk space (SSD, HDD) and data redundancy mechanisms.
- Nodes with larger storage can accommodate more data.
Network Latency and Bandwidth
- Consider network performance.
- Compare latency (response time) and available bandwidth.
- Nodes with low latency and high bandwidth contribute to efficient data exchange.
Reliability and Uptime
- Assess the reliability of each node.
- Compare uptime (availability) and historical performance.
- Reliable nodes contribute to a stable network.
Geographical Distribution
- Nodes may be distributed globally.
- Compare their geographical locations.
- Nodes closer to users reduce latency and improve content delivery.
