Cyclone Qs / Qs Pro

Iagon Cyclone Qs

Overview

The Iagon Cyclone Qs / Qs Pro is a plug-and-play Iagon node with a custom operating system that provides a quick and easy setup in just a few clicks. The Cyclone line of devices are designed to make running an Iagon node as easy as possible for anyone with a sufficient internet connection.

Setup Instructions

Before you Begin, please make sure you have:

  • A Cardano wallet (mobile wallet or desktop browser wallet) with at least 5 ADA and enough IAG tokens to stake the minimum requirement to your node (about $500 USD worth of IAG tokens per 1 TB of storage commitment).

  • An internet connection with at least 20mbps upload and download speed.

  • The ability to connect an ethernet cable to your internet router.

If you ordered your Cyclone with drives, skip to Step 2

Step 1 - Install your storage and NVMe drives

  1. Pull the tab to remove the top cover

Step 1

  1. Remove both storage drive trays

Step 2

  1. Unscrew the four screws on the bottom

Step 3

  1. Pull the core out the top

Step 4

  1. Install an M.2 NVMe drive into the bottom NVMe slot by removing the retaining screw, carefully inserting the NVMe drive into its slot, and fastening it in place with the retaining screw

  2. Optionally repeat the previous step for a second M.2 NVMe drive if you have another to install

Step 5

  1. Slide the core back into the shell and refasten the screws on the bottom

  2. Place your storage drive(s) into the trays, fastening them in place with the retaining pins. The SATA connector should face away from the hinge

Step 1

  1. Reinstall the core into the shell the same way it was removed, ensuring the rear IO ports align with their holes in the shell

  2. Slide the storage drive trays into their slots, ensuring the top of the drive faces outward. If you are only installing one storage drive, insert it into the slot on the left when looking at the front of the device

Step 1

Step 2 - Plug in your Cyclone

  1. Plug in the power cable

  2. Connect your Cyclone to your internet rounder with the included ethernet cable

Step 3 - Power on your Cyclone

Press the power button on the front

Step 4 - Begin Device Setup

Scan the QR code or visit the following web page to begin the device setup process

Step 5 - Complete the device setup process

  1. Quick Setup will automatically set up your Cyclone in the recommended and safest configuration

  2. Advanced Setup will allow you to choose your setup configuration (only recommended if you know what you’re doing)

  3. Your Cyclone will reboot at one point in the setup process

  4. Reboot your Cyclone a second time when prompted to after the device setup is complete

Step 6 - Node Setup

Scan the QR code or visit the following web page in your web browser to begin the node setup process

http://cyclone.local

Cyclone Local QR Code

If you’re setting up an additional Cyclone and you have one or more Cyclones already running on your network, the url will incrementally increase with a unique identifying number, such as:

http://cyclone2.local

http://cyclone3.local

etc...

Please ensure that all of your Cyclones are running as you set up a new one, so that a unique hostname is not duplicated.

Step 7 - Complete the node setup process

  • Follow on-screen prompts to set up your node

  • You may use the default port number unless you already have an Iagon node running on that port number, in which case please change it so that it is unique

  • A default storage path of /mnt/iagon-storage will be assigned

  • Copy or write down the auth key displayed at the end of the node setup

Step 8 - Register your node

  1. Visit https://dashboard.iagon.com/node on your mobile Cardano wallet’s dapp browser, or your desktop web browser that has a Cardano wallet browser extension set up, and log in with your wallet

  2. Select Add Storage Node + Add Storage Node

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to input your auth key and evaluate your device

  4. You will need to decide if you want to run this node as an independent node or a delegated node. An independent node will be staked only by you, and you will keep all of the node’s earnings. A delegated node will be staked partially by you (at least the minimum requirement) and partially by other IAG token holders, with whom you will share the node’s earnings with. If you have any questions about these differences, please reach out to our team or refer to the "Staking Platform" page at https://docs.iagon.com

  5. Continue to follow on-screen prompts to set any further node parameters and to stake your IAG tokens
